Animal Care Centers (ACC)

The Animal Care Centers for the County of Los Angeles Department of Animal Care and Control (DACC) are hubs of animal welfare activity.  Within these seven (7) locations, DACC operates its services to the constituents of the unincorporated areas of the County and their City Partners of DACC.  All animals in the County’s care pass through one of the seven ACCs.

Each ACC has a multitude of daily activities going on at any time, including but not limited to neighborhood field visits, stray pet reunions, kenneling, emergency response, veterinary care, and animal adoptions.  Payments for fees can be made in person at any ACC, but payments will likely be faster if completed using our online portal.  All animal adoptions are handled at one of the seven ACCs.

Administrative services are generally centralized at our Long Beach office, and it is where we coordinate our efforts across the County of Los Angeles and the forty-five (45) City Partners that we support.  Please note that there are no animals kenneled at our Administrative hub, and payments for fees cannot be completed at this location.

Our ACC Visitation hours listed here and also on the specific Web page for each location. While there is a number for the Administrative Office that can be called for general information, our Communications Center is staffed 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  Please see the Contact Us page for specific information.

Adoption Process Overview at any ACC

Animals are available for viewing during open hours at each of the seven animal care centers. Adoptions are available at any time during normal operating hours and for quicker service an appointment can be made. A staff member or a volunteer will be on hand to assist you in viewing your Ready to Go Home (RTGH) animals on the day of your adoption  This means they are spayed or neutered, off stray hold and have gone to dog playgroups  at least once (for dogs over 35 lbs.). All RTGH animals can be adopted on a first-come, first-served basis.

For Non-Appointment visits, assistance will be provided according to staff and volunteer capacity.
