Agoura Animal Care Center Leaders
Denise Rosen
Animal Care Center Manager

Denise Rosen is the Shelter Manager for the Agoura Animal Care Center in 2006 and currently holds this position. She began her career with the department in 1992 as an Animal Care Attendant and has worked in a variety of roles for the department. As an Animal Control Officer, Denise loved the challenge of working in the field and quickly learned how to be effective when dealing with difficult situations. As Manager, Denise welcomes volunteer support to help care for the animals at the care center where the number of volunteers has increased during her tenure from just a few to well over 100.
Denise grew up riding horses in the Santa Monica Mountains then spent 10 years living in Australia where she pursued her love for the outdoors and animals. There, she worked as a photographer for a white-water rafting company. Denise also worked on live-aboard dive boats that toured the Great Barrier Reef and Coral Sea and was an avid scuba diver.
In 2013 Denise adopted Charlie, who is now a 7-year-old Weimaraner who gets to go to work with Denise at the Agoura Animal Care Center each day.
